What is the SonderMind Editorial Review Board?

The SonderMind Editorial Review Board is a group of licensed clinicians and mental health leaders who help shape the mental health content we publish. They author content and review and approve its clinical details before it goes live, giving readers information that is clear, useful, and grounded in clinical expertise.

Who serves on the review board?

Our review board brings together people from different corners of mental health care, including licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatric professionals, and clinical leaders. Current reviewers include Caroline Cauley, PhD, LP; Peter Bordelon, PMHNP; Miranda Wenhold, M.Ed, LCMHC; Shontel Cargill, MS, LMFT; Lindsay Evans-Mitchell, MD, JD; and Glen Rebman, MD. Together, they help review our content through a variety of clinical perspectives.

How does SonderMind review and fact-check its content?

Each piece of content moves through several sets of hands. A clinical author starts with reliable, up-to-date sources, then an editor checks the draft for tone, grammar, clarity, and accuracy. Next, a clinical member of the editorial team reviews the final draft. The editor then addresses the clinical reviewer’s feedback before the content is published.

What does it mean when a SonderMind article is medically reviewed?

“Medically reviewed” means the final draft was checked by a licensed clinician or clinical editor. They review the clinical details, look for missing context, and confirm that the guidance reflects accepted mental health practices. Each medically reviewed article includes the reviewer's name and credentials for transparency.

How often is your content reviewed and updated?

The “Last reviewed” or “Last updated” date shows when the information was most recently checked. We revisit published content regularly and make updates when new evidence, guidance, or standards change what readers need to know. This helps our content keep pace as mental health research and clinical guidance evolve.

Are the people who write SonderMind's content qualified?

Yes. Each article has a clinical author with relevant subject-matter knowledge and experience, and that author does not work alone. An editor reviews every draft, and a separate qualified clinician reviews the final content. When a clinical review is completed, the reviewer’s name and credentials appear with the content.

How does SonderMind keep its information accurate and unbiased?

We build our content around credible sources, including peer-reviewed research and recognized clinical guidelines. Editors and clinical reviewers look closely at whether claims are supported, balanced, and presented with the right context. Commercial goals do not determine what passes editorial or clinical review.

How is the Editorial Review Board different from the therapists in your directory?

The Editorial Review Board reviews SonderMind's educational content for clinical accuracy and quality. Therapists in our directory provide care directly to clients. Some Editorial Review Board members may also practice clinically, but serving on the review board doesn't necessarily mean they're available to book through SonderMind.
