FAQs - AI-Powered Support Features

How does AI support my care at SonderMind?

Our AI tools are thoughtfully designed to enhance—not replace—therapy. They help you prepare for sessions, reflect afterward, stay organized between visits, and maintain momentum toward your goals. Everything is built to strengthen the work you and your therapist already do together.

Does AI replace my therapist?

No. Your therapist is always the one directing care, making clinical decisions, and guiding your treatment. AI simply supports the therapeutic process by reducing friction, increasing clarity, and helping you stay engaged from session to session.

Is my information private and secure?

Yes. We follow strict HIPAA privacy and security standards. Session audio is encrypted during and after your session, doubly encrypted using industry-leading methods, and automatically deleted after 30 days. A fully de-identified, encrypted transcript is kept only to help power features that improve your care experience. Nothing is stored or shared in a way that identifies you.

Who can see the information generated by AI features?

Only your therapist can view your session materials. Some de-identified information may be used to improve our platform and support broader mental health research or partnership work, but this data cannot be traced back to you or your therapy sessions.

Do I have to use AI-powered features?

No. These tools are entirely optional for both you and your therapist. You are always in control of what you choose to use, and you can continue therapy without AI features at any time.

How does AI fit into the therapy journey?

AI supports moments that traditionally happen outside the therapy hour: getting ready for a session, capturing what stood out afterward, reflecting on your progress, or staying connected to the work you and your therapist are doing together. It helps therapy feel continuous—not something you only think about once a week.

Can my therapist edit or change the information AI generates?

Yes. Every AI-generated draft is fully editable. Your therapist reviews, modifies, and approves everything before it becomes part of your clinical record. AI reduces administrative strain, but your therapist remains the sole clinical decision-maker.

How does AI help me get more out of therapy?

By bringing structure and support to the moments that often feel unclear—What should I bring up? What did we decide last time? Am I making progress?—AI helps you reflect, stay on track, and feel more confident in the work you’re doing. Many clients find it makes therapy feel more grounded and easier to navigate.| |What page or URL(s) are being affected?
