Webinar: Mindfulness for Therapists in the Age of Anxiety

Friday, September 22 2023

Mindfulness — the ability to occupy the present fully without anxiety about the future or ruminations about the past — can be a foundation for health and resilience.

In fact, many therapists find practicing mindfulness to be a helpful antidote for their own stress, sometimes even improving therapeutic outcomes in their practice. When a therapist has cultivated mindful awareness, clients often appear more relaxed and are better able to connect with their own process of healing.

In this free webinar, Christopher Willard, PsyD, Professor of Mindfulness and Psychology at Harvard Medical School, will help you create a specialized mindfulness practice with your profession in mind.

Creating your mindfulness practice

In this two-hour workshop on mindfulness, you will learn:

  • About the importance of starting or deepening your mindful self-care and expanding those practices to your clients.
  • Techniques and mindfulness practices shown to reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and create a more resilient life.
  • An understanding of mindfulness through evidence-based tools including breath work, movement, games, and creative activities for all ages.
  • How to tailor techniques to various issues, including learning differences, medical concerns, and mental health issues.

Dr. Willard will also teach the neuroscience behind mindfulness and how it impacts our parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.
