Our therapists are currently in-network with Anthem (Blue Cross Blue Shield), Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser, Bright and United Health Care. They are also in-network with Cigna EAP and United EAP. We match you based on speciality, availability, location, treatment approaches, insurance, and more. Our network of licensed mental healthcare professionals cover a wide variety of mental health issues and practice areas.
SonderMind has a 24 hour cancellation policy. To cancel an appointment reach out to your provider and they will reschedule for you. If you cancel within 24 hours you may be charged a cancellation fee, up to the full session cost.
This will vary based on your payment method. If you are using your insurance benefits, you can call the customer service number on the back of your card to confirm your specific benefits. You can ask, “What are my behavioral health benefits?” to find out how much you would pay for a therapy session. If you are using an EAP, you will normally have a certain number of free sessions before you have to pay with your insurance benefits or out-of-pocket. To use your EAP, it’s best to call them ahead of time and let them know you are seeing a SonderMind therapist. They will then give you a referral number which you can bring to your first appointment.
Our goal is to find you a match as fast as possible. Once we gather your preferences we will immediately search for a match in our system. We normally can find your matches within 24 - 48 hours. If you request a match on a weekend, you will be matched on the next business day. Once the therapist we matched you with accepts you as a client, it usually takes 1-2 days for them to reach out to schedule your first appointment.
Your first appointment may be a planned appointment or may be unplanned or urgent, depending on your circumstances. You will be seen by a qualified mental health clinician.
We collect your credit card information prior to your first appointment to ensure we can collect all no-show fees, co-payments, co-insurance, and deductible fees. This also improves the therapy experience by removing the task of paying for your session at your therapists office. We will take care of billing after the session so your therapist can focus on providing care, rather than administrative tasks. You will NOT be charged for anything until after you see your therapist for the first time.
A copayment, or copay, is a flat fee for a healthcare service or a prescription drug that is predetermined by a member’s health insurance plan. Copays are one way that insurers share the cost of medical services with policyholders, with the fees paid depending on the plan, medical service or drug. These fees are a fraction of the actual cost of the service provided.
