What is Anytime Messaging?

SonderMind Anytime Messaging is a secure, subscription-based messaging service. For a monthly fee, clients can message their participating therapist at any time. Photos and attachments are not supported at this time.

Therapists will offer a response to client messages at least once within 24 hours except on weekends. Unlike other message therapy services, there are no character or word counts to interfere with how you and your therapist decide to communicate.

How much is the monthly subscription cost?

The subscription cost is $160 per month, billed monthly. This is well beneath the cost of most common monthly subscription messaging platforms.

Is Anytime Messaging insurance reimbursable like in-person or SonderMind Video Telehealth sessions?

Anytime Messaging is a standalone subscription and is not supported by insurance at this time. The payments for Anytime Messaging and the payments for in person and video sessions are handled independently.

What is the cancellation policy?

This is a recurring month-to-month service. You can cancel billing anytime. If you cancel mid month, you will still have access and use of Anytime Messaging for the remainder of the billing cycle but it will not renew.

Who can use it?

Messaging may not be ideal for every therapeutic relationship. The final decision about whether Anytime Messaging is appropriate is left to the discretion of your therapist. However, you may use this service with any SonderMind therapist who has chosen to communicate via Anytime Messaging.

How does a new client subscribe to Anytime Messaging?

Once a client has completed account creation and they have access to their portal account, they will see an option in their side/top navigation with a messaging icon labeled “Messaging.” They can then read some information about Anytime Messaging and choose to sign up.

This will take them to the list of therapists who are available to them to connect with through Anytime Messaging. Once a client has selected a therapist, they will go to a final page where they can renew the charges, therapist, and card information, and finalize their subscription. They will be charged that same day for their first month.

How does an existing client subscribe to Anytime Messaging?

Existing clients will be able to opt into Anytime Messaging in the same way as new clients will through the “Messaging” page in their portal account.

Can clients use their health insurance to pay for Anytime Messaging?

No. Anytime Messaging is a standalone subscription and is not supported by insurance at this time.

How does a client request a rematch with a new Anytime Messaging provider?

A client cannot use the existing rematch button to rematch with another Anytime Messaging provider. They must go to their Anytime Messaging Settings, select “Change your therapist,” select “Help me get connected with another therapist,” and then click the “Help me find a new therapist” button. This will send a request to a Wellness Coordinator to match them with a new Anytime Messaging provider. A client can do this at any time and as many times as they want during their subscription. While they’re waiting for a Wellness Coordinator to rematch them, they will still see their current provider as the provider they are actively messaging with.

Does rematching with a therapist through SonderMind’s existing rematch flow also rematch the client’s Anytime Messaging therapist?

No. If they would like to stop both in-person/video session AND Anytime Messaging with a provider, they will need to initiate separate rematches for both.

Can a client message with more than one provider at a time?

No. A client who subscribes to Anytime Messaging can only message with one provider at a time.

Can a client still see their message history with a provider who they are no longer matched with?

Yes. If a client is subscribed to Anytime Messaging, and they have one or more providers with whom they have messaged previously, the client will be able to see messages exchanged with those providers in an archived state. They will not be able to message with these providers.

Will a client be able to see message history with providers from before the launch of Anytime Messaging?

Yes. When SonderMind Anytime Messaging launches, clients will be able to see their message history at that time.

Can a client see a complete history of their AnytimeMessaging charges?

Yes. They can also go to the “Settings” page of the Messaging section of their portal account to view the amount and date of their most recent charge, as well as the amount and date of their next charge.

How does a client cancel a subscription?

A client can cancel their subscription from My Account → Payments screen or the Settings → Manage Subscription page in their Anytime Messaging Settings tab.

Does a client have to pay the full month’s subscription fee if they cancel before the month is over?

Yes. Clients are charged for the upcoming month at the beginning of their rolling monthly billing cycle. Once a client cancels their subscription, they can still use Anytime Messaging up until the last day of that billing cycle. They will not be refunded for any portion of that billing cycle.

Can a client still see their Anytime Messaging history once they cancel their subscription?

Yes. By going to the “Messaging” page, a client can see their archived message history. They cannot send or receive new messages.

Can a client subscribe to Anytime Messaging again after they’ve previously canceled their subscription?

Yes. They can subscribe again at any time through the “Messaging” page of their portal account.
